We are holding an exhibition “recursive” at the OMOTESANDO CROSSING PARK (Tokyo, Omotesando)

September 10, 2024

Rhizomatiks will present the exhibition “recursive” at OMOTESANDO CROSSING PARK in Omotesando, Tokyo, from Saturday, September 14, to Thursday, October 3.
The exhibition, curated by Yuko Hasegawa (Director of the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa), explores the theme of “The Recursive Self-Learning of AI and the Evolution of Creativity.” It will feature video works and other installations, utilizing both outdoor and indoor spaces at the venue. Currently, Rhizomatiks is presenting a solo exhibition, “Rhizomatiks Beyond Perception,” at the contemporary art gallery KOTARO NUKAGA in Tennozu, where new works themed around “AI and Generative Art” are being showcased. The “recursive” exhibition builds on the Tennozu show and will unveil new video works and more.

*Note: “Recursive” refers to a concept in which a description includes a reference to the very thing being described, such as in mathematics when a definition includes the term being defined.
