“Reframe 2019” was a conceptual live performance that offered a new perspective on Perfume by analyzing and reconstructing the vast corpus of video, audio, chorography, and lyrics created over the electro-pop trio’s career.
Performed a total of eight times to ceremoniously mark the opening of the LINE CUBE SHIBUYA concert venue (housed in the former Shibuya Public Hall), the work also made extensive use of volumetric capture technology to create engaging video imagery onstage.
A segment titled “Kiseki – Visualization” looked back on Perfume’s past performances and history as a group through data visualization, music, and dance drawing on a vast corpus of 3D scan data captured over the years.
For “Pose – Perspective,” we used a 3D data restoration technique called photogrammetry to convert choreography from 18 songs into 3D data which was then rendered from various angles to provide fans a never-before-seen perspective on the group’s most iconic dance poses.
