As part of UNIQLO's global campaign for their functional innerwear "HEATTECH," Daito Manabe participated as an artist and technical director in a project that unveiled "ThermoArt," an innovative update to traditional thermography that transforms heat into art. Rhizomatiks developed software that converts the body heat of subjects into motion graphics. This process involved capturing the subject with three types of cameras: a color camera for real footage, a thermal camera that detects infrared radiation, and a depth camera that measures distance. By analyzing the infrared radiation and movements of the subject, the team generated graphics. Additionally, they created an Instagram AR filter to allow users to easily enjoy ThermoArt.
