An audio-visual set by Daito Manabe, Nosaj Thing, and Rhizomatiks Research. They performed live on the final day of Sónar Barcelona at the main venue, ‘SonarHall.’
The stage featured a live drive experience, incorporating real-time camera footage into CGI rather than using pre-prepared CG mixing, creating a different dimension from other DJ sets. Nosaj Thing showcased his leading role in the LA beat scene with a stage performance characterized by abstract and versatile beat control.
Sónar Barcelona is one of the largest sound events in the world. In 2017, it was the largest ever in terms of content and performers. Over a weekend of three days (plus one pre-opening day), approximately 150 electronic sound live performances and DJ events took place. SONAR by Day, focused on daytime activities, featured five venues, while SONAR by Night, running from evening to morning, had four venues. Additionally, SONAR+D, which focuses on ‘creativity, technology, and business,’ was held at a separate venue.
