Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai (Official Name: The Japan World Exposition 2025)
April 13 (Sun) – October 13 (Mon), 2025 — 184 days
Venue: Yumeshima, Osaka
Zone 1
Zone 1 features a display following the history of communication, with props such as letters, Morse code devices, rotary phones, feature phones, smartphones, and tablets installed throughout the exhibition room. Rhizomatiks designed and implemented a system that synchronizes lighting effects and the control of these props with large-scale LED visuals and music.

Zone2
On April 2, 2025, just before the Expo2025 opened, a live performance by Perfume “IOWN × Perfume” was delivered via NTT’s next-generation network platform “IOWN”. The event used 3D spatial transmission to connect a special stage set up at the Expo ’70 Commemorative Park (the site of the 1970 Expo) to the NTT Pavilion at Expo 2025.
After the opening, visitors can re-experience the performance in Zone 2 through data captured during the live broadcast.

Zone3
Zone 3 features an interactive installation where visitors are filmed, and the visual data is processed and analyzed using AI. The results are then reflected in projection visuals on the walls and ambient music throughout the space. Rhizomatiks handled the concept, design, and implementation of this immersive system.

Intermediate Space
In the outdoor area known as the intermediate space, Rhizomatiks designed and implemented installations under the theme of “The Ensemble Pavilion.” Vertical wires stretch from the ceiling to the ground, with vibration sensors attached to 20 of them. Visitors can touch the wires, and the vibrations are translated into sound.
Additionally, fabric materials placed on the facade respond to wind and kinetic mechanisms. These movements are captured and analyzed in real time and converted into audio, creating a dynamic and interactive sonic environment that evolves with each visitor’s presence.
