In the summer of 2015, Rhizomatiks Research hosted a summer workshop exclusively for high school students, with the theme ‘Creating Performance Art.’ The instructors included members of Rhizomatiks Research and choreographer MIKIKO. High school students participated in the workshop, working in groups to create performance art using Rhizomatiks Research’s equipment and development environment. The goal of the program was to deepen understanding of live performances and concerts by experiencing the process of creating a performance piece, as well as to explore how subjects like mathematics and physics can be applied.
Since 2009, Rhizomatiks Research has been dedicated to nurturing the next generation of media artists through workshops such as ‘flyingtokyo,’ which invites international artists with whom Daito Manabe has established connections.
